One ring to rule them all

Description

One Ring to rule them all,
One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all,
And in the darkness bind them.

It's done! :dummy:

I had so much fun drawing this one! I watched the Hobbit in December, and I just knew I had to draw something for it!
It's definitely one of, if not the most, time-consuming drawings I've ever done.
The size is A2. that is 420 x 594 mm (16.5 x 23.4 in)

LOTR is pretty much the most amazing film ever made, and the Hobbit was right up there.

Now for some thoughts from me about this image.
The idea was to show how the ring brings all these people together in it's evil way. I could have used Frodo instead of Bilbo, but i just loved Martin Freeman so much that i had to use him. At least it is a hobbit.

Mars Lumograph graphite pencils and Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils.

I hope you guys like it! :huggle:

One pencil was killed in the making of this drawing, and one badly injured.

Hey, fellow deviant

I have to say that I am completely amazed by this piece of yours. I love the general idea of he composition and the place of the ring in the center. The while lines look to me like three parts of three separated books are put together. I really love this idea. I am not sure if I am right, but... you will tell me What is more I really like how you have done the shading! It is amazing! When I saw your drawing I got stunned by the realism and the expressiveness of the faces of Gandalf, Frodo and Gollum. Gollum's eyes are just so piercing, I feel like he is looking at me right now while I am writing this and will judge me I have to admit that my most favorite character is Gandalf. And I really really like how you have drawn him. The wrinkles on his face and the strands of his hair and the beard are just awesome I also really like how you have drawn his hat - the texture is amazing It looks like I can touch it I really like how you have drawn Frodo also, and especially the textures of his clothes.

Something else that I really like is that you have drawn the ring in color and the rest of the drawing is in black and white. I really like this because thus, the contrast is very clear and the Ring pops out I really love this technique and sometimes use it in my drawings also.

Simply, I can say that you have done a really really amazing job Sincere congratulations from me. Keep up the amazing work

P.S. I do not know if you have read the book but if not, I would strongly recommend it to you I am currently reading "The Lord of the Rings" and I love it
